I agree with Sean full ness matters and temp matters. I have also heard but never tested some humidors will lose alot of humidity thru the bottom of the humidor as it tends to be very thin. Now TJ may have the best solution for you but not practical for most of us. Alan has a good solution too. If you want to keep the wood out either for anesthetics or sentimental reasons (wife bought my first humidor regrets that decision). 1 fill either with cigars or some other media beads or kitty litter to help hold the humidity. 2 put cigars in ziplocks in the humidors this gives a way to hold humidity but the look of traditional humidor.
