I've always had a problem with dictators. Just a brutal way to run a country. Hmmmm....let's find some more ways to make everybody miserable. If you love your country, you should find a way to make it prosper along with your people. I never understood how these jerks can stand to look in the mirror knowing what they're doing to the morale and lives of it's citizens.....
...correct me if I'm wrong, but he didn't have any real power since 2008? Switching the conversation a bit, but I've heard a few people around me saying how great things are going to be for the people over there now that he's dead, but I thought he was out in 08...
Raul has officially been in power since 2008. He is generally regarded as more moderate than Fidel. It is possible that he will continue on exactly the same course he has started on. It is also possible that out of respect for Fidel (or simply to keep the peace with him), Raul has held back on his reforms, and that he may proceed more quickly now that Fidel is dead. I think the latter is pretty much everyone's hope.
My hope is that with Fidel's passing, there will be more Cohiba Lanceros available for the rest of the world. And by "rest of the world," I mean "me."
Do you smell that? Smells like the Devil just smoked a Cuban.

So, I heard POTUS and VPOTUS were planning for one or both to attend Castro's funeral, but changed their minds after some people expressed "Why the hell would you attend the funeral of an evil, murderous, thieving, communist dictator?"
OK, that's probably not a direct quote, but,...wow, that anyone would consider attending...wow
