Question about cigar age/descriptions on Cbid
Forgive my noob ignorance here, but I have noticed through hours of study that the cigar descriptions on cbid are not always accurate. My question is can you trust the dates in the descriptions of cigars that originally came out years ago? I have doubts that the manufacture has leaf from 2007 or earlier still stock-piled. Or is it more a case that they produced the cigar and put the boxes into storage for years. I recently purchased some Partagas Cifuentes Diciembre with a description of leaves from long, long ago in a land far, far away. Can it be accurate?

Many cigars are made from aged leaves. The true magic hapoens when you let the rolled cigars age as well.
I have a box of special limited release 2012 Cohibaa that feature a wrapper from 1980.

I truly enjoy Cbid, so I don't mean to disparage them when I say "they lie like a mofo" In their descriptions. Definitely research the cigar elsewhere if you truly care about such things.
Having said that, supposedly they are still wrapping gran habano vintage 02s in a leaf from 2002, so 2007 seems perfectly plausible to me.
