As of tomorrow I’m free for ten days with no plans other than the 104 degree hot tub, smoking foods and fine cigars. Perhaps a few nips and ales

I’ve been down in the Destin area a few times now. Have a cousin nearby in Niceville. Check out some of the places just a little east along 30A; Blue Mountain Beach, Watercolor, etc. Not as crowded with a lot of nice houses/condos for rent. Not as commercialized, but still convenient enough to Destin for some of the activities if you want. There are now non-stop flights from Omaha to Destin on Allegiant air. Cheap! We drove non-stop twice. Won’t do it again! I think Allegiant serves Knoxville as well.
Everyone should visit Gettysburg at least once.
No more vacations this year for me; A family situation precludes that for awhile. The Orgy was my vacation with a visit to Phillie/New York City and NJ the month before. My wife and two of my remaining kids still at home went to France earlier this month leaving me with my 10 and 19 year old sons. Even though I still had to work, that was a vacation for me!
The family is renting a house in Aruba.
As I do you Jesse!
Next time I make the plans I'll be sure to include your invite. But this time I'm a "willing hanger on".
My Mom, Sister & oldest daughter pretty much said "we're going to Aruba and your coming!"
I couldn't say no. Aruba is the most beautiful vacation spot I remember, eventhough I haven't been there in 23 years!! It made a "little impression" on me.
I believe there is a cigars of habano there in case you were wondering
We didn't have/don't have a lengthy vacation planned.
We flew up to the Santa Ynez Valley, and did some wine tasting over a long weekend there. Hooked up with friends, and hung out with Kevin Sussman and his wife for a bit while in Los Olivos.
July will just be "business as normal" for us, as will August.
We're saving $$ and vacation hours for a trip to Europe in 2020.
I agree. Had never been out there before, and the wife talked me into going about 17 years ago. Now we try to go once a year. If you're into the history like me, you can find something new on every trip. My wife is into the haunted angle. It's actually a beautiful area. We've actually talked about moving there when I retire (in 17 months!).Quote:
