what is your latest pipe purchase

Mini clay, just picked up on the bay of E. Currently smoking some Velvet in it.

Not sure if it's supposed to be someone - looks a little like Andrew Jackson.

So how does it smoke? Does the bowl get very hot?
I've looked at a few clay pipe sales,P&C has one now.
Just leary of wasting money on another pipe when I would rather pop for more tobacco.
