Alright George W. you don't have to hide anymore...I hear you took up painting...missing the White House much these days?
In all seriousness, cool story about the pipe! I traveled back and forth to Mt. Airy for about 9 months for work, I attended that festival and probably stood very near where that picture was taken. Interesting town!
Coasty was laid on me by my high school friends after I joined the Coast Guard.
Avatar is W.C. Fields, IMO the funniest man that ever lived. He loved his cigars and booze. My dad delivered whisky to him during prohibition and told me he was a good man to do business with. "anyone that hates dogs and kids, can't be all bad"
Thanks for this thread. Have enjoyed all the post.
When I worked for ADT (Commercial Dept) we were putting cameras and access control in a huge mall in Jonesboro and we would sometimes be a quarter mile away from each other. So, we all carried radios. The lead tech on the job kind of made my radio handle Cool Breeze because he said I never got in a hurry. I told him, "Hey man, this is a marathon, not a sprint." lol
The name kind of stuck and I was Cool Breeze for the next 5 years.
The Avatar - Because I'm so damn good looking.
I'm not a sports fan, but I remember using this name back on an early forum, probably in the late 90's when I was a teenager. I've always used the explanation that I had just read a Tom Clancy book and I liked the character and the name, so that's what I'll stick with. I kind of wish I'd changed over to my actual name or initials when the Bum came up, but it's not a big enough deal for me to go back now.
The avatar is Uma Thurman's character in Pulp Fiction right after she gets resurrected by the shot to the heart. The scene still makes me cringe and laugh at the same time, and mostly I loved the colors in this particular painting. I had to change from The Jesus because I was tired of meeting people in person and having them be surprised (disappointed?) that I wasn't a sleazy, creepy-looking, hairnet-wearing bowler.
Nickname: Given to me by a friend and former pro wrestler. When he saw I was missing a finger he started calling me dijit after the big ape in Gorillas in the Mist. It stuck I even used in the ring for a short while.
Avatar: Because I am generally too lazy to update or change it but will most likely add my old USAF PJ patch in the near future 129th Rescue Squadron.
LOL
2014 she was a zombie!!

While I was in the Fire Academy I needed a user name for some online training, so:
LVFC = Logan Volunteer Fire Company
Rook = Rookie
1503 = Date I started the Academy 1/5/2003
It worked and I never have to worry about it being taken so I use it for everything other than banking
I was MarkC on puff; I went with mooster (my favorite cat of all time; don't tell the current ones!) as all my other online names are similar.
The avatar probably makes sense by now.
Avatar/Name the same: I used to work with thoroughbred racehorses. Bernardini was one of my favorites and the best horse I was ever around. I was struggling to think of a name for a different forum, went with this, and it stuck.
I'm a 3rd so my nickname has been Trey my whole life and I live in South Carolina. The avatar is a poster I and liked in a B&M so I found a copy to use
Ilroy - nickname from high school. Started from taking the first letters from my first and last names which was ill otter, then my friends just shortened it to Ilroy.
Avatar - it's called a load toad. During my time in the Air Force, I worked as a weapons loader/weapons system on the F-16. Weapons crews were nicknamed load toads.
Heh a fellow BB stacker!! Back in the day I was a 46250 myself. Started on F-15's, then went to AC-130 gunships. Before going over to Army side of things.
As to mine,
Trackmyer = First Initial, last name.....pretty boring. But heh my pic is off Scotch and a cigar....priceless!
I love the amount of Vets here...The various descriptions of your duties and time in service are so interesting.
Username: I've been a fan of the Flyers since I was a youngster (I remember them winning the Stanley Cup) and it's strangely available on most forums.
Avatar: That's my beer drinking cat, Betty.
Branzig is an old high school nickname given to me because of my unhealthy obsession with Samhain, Misfits, and all things Glenn Danzig related.
My avatar is a cob general and OE 40. Damn 7/11 was out of st. Ides.
Avatar, my dog I had to put down (he was old and suffering) 2 years ago, still miss that dumb a$$
User name was my handle for online games (I ran a quake server at pdq.net) this was a dialup in Sacramento back in 1998
sent from my bag phone
Mention of Danzig and St.Ides in one post earns you some sort of immortality. Dang, the good and bad and worse and outright regrettable times I've had after consuming a 40, and later, a 64, the giant bottle with the extended lip for an easy chug, of the Stides when I lived in Seattle...
Username:I used to have a big handlebar mustache. I did a lot of rockcrawling, and four wheeling. My wheeling buddies nicknamed me Redneck because of the 'stache. I wheel Toyotas, hence the toy.
Avatar: It's the Godsmack sun. Huge fan of their music
