I'm sure your cigar is stored in a warm room of about 70 degrees and at around 65% humidity. If you take that cigar outside where it's 55 degrees colder and 25% lower humidity that wrapper is going to crack and start to unravel. The inside of the cigar once it is lit the filler is still holding a 65+% humidity level. When the cigar is being smoked, the moisture in the burning filler is being released as steam and drawn through the body of the much colder cigar. The colder cigar filler fills with condensation and can't hold all the humidity and the filler starts to get nasty. This also makes the cigar swell more making the wrapper even more prone to cracking. I would say that by the halfway mark that cigar is going to taste like garbage. This is why I wouldn't waste a cigar out in the cold unless it was a cheap yard gar and even then it's not worth the time or effort unless I'm shoveling snow.

I'd like to know if anyone else here smokes outside in zero-degree temps.
