Do you collect cigar related trinkets? Is there a market for Nubbers/Draw tools?

I've been browsing around for a bit since returning, and am interested in perhaps venturing into the hand made accessory realm. I tend to be drawn towards items related to my interests. With cigars, I am rather fond of cutters and lighters and cases and such. One thing I'm sure everyone has seen in one form or another is the draw tool/nubber. There are all types of versions out there to be had, a lot of them just plain pick styles. There are a number of hand made options as well, but when browsing those I see that a lot of overly bejeweled designs that may not suit all interested customers.

My question, to those of you like me who tend to enjoy collecting the accessories that go with the cigars we enjoy. Do you think there is room in the market for another entry? Something that blends the lines between "too flashy" and trying too hard to be "too different?" I've seen some of the price points of some of the items in the market also, and think it can be better. Would you be willing to spend $10, $20, $30 on a limited edition, or even custom cigar nub/draw tool that was laid out to fit your tastes and style? What do you think the ultra premium price point would be? What would you NOT be willing to spend? Would you not spend anything on something like this?

Open to any and all discussions here, either as a reply or via PM. I am not trying to advertise, at this point. Simply floating the idea around and seeing if maybe there is enough interest to warrant the thought of making them. I did take one picture of one I threw together in a minute or two, though it's all loose so it isn't an actual "product." Just a template or idea of sorts.

It isn't a great picture, but if it does spark some interest in you..so that I can gauge and feel where things may lay. What would you pay for the pictured item? Or something of similar make, but different design?

@Drez I use a Modus and love it. It's the size of a cigar so it packs well in a travel humidor and could double as a weapon if someone tries to mess with you lol. Here's a pic of it and second with it all apart. Nubber and draw tool all in one. If I recall they go for $40-50 and are available on Amazon.
The 3 things I would say I would like over what you've shown is 1. The double prong on the nubber keeps the cigar from spinning on the single 2. It has covers so no accidental pokes 3. It slides right in like any other cigar. It's definitely not as pretty, but it's effective.

Some great points Tony, thanks. Yes, I was definitely aware of the Modus when this idea came to fruition. I believe it had launched not terribly long before I left, and was starting to gain some traction then. The only point I see that could not somewhat easily be combated is the double prong, as the current product supply without creating my own would be single pronged. There may be ways to combat that issue, of the cigar spinning, but I'd have to look into them.

While the pictured item I have shown is not as long, it is indeed sharp and could be used to stab at someone in the required instance. There are various length prongs that I could use, and likely would have versions of them. The one I have pictured is between 4-5 inches. There are some slightly shorter, and some that can hit the 7-8 length that a churchill would provide.

Thanks again for the feedback. Any and all conversation will help me plot where this may go, how to make it as strong a product as it may be while meeting all the needs of those who would use it. I do know there are some who would like it - and some who would prefer a more practical application. I'm trying to find what would best meld those two groups so that it becomes a "Hey, that's pretty dang cool and it's only $15 bucks, why the hell not?" type of a buy.

There are a few options to keep one from poking themselves. I am looking into what may be best, and it may vary from design to design. There are removable and replaceable "caps" that slide onto the end of the point. As in the case of something the size of the one I have pictured, it could be attached to your person via keychain ring to car keys, or even just a belt clip that may also be able to come as an additional accessory so that it doesn't clutter up your keys. I believe a tube carry case could also be implemented very easily, where the tool is held in a "tubo" of its own that would fit into whatever standard case sizing you prefer. Would depend on if you wanted it clipped or taking up a cigar spot.

You are on the right track. $15 instead of $50 would be very attractive and small enough to attach to a keychain makes it an excellent travel option. I have cutters upon cutters but I also have a cheap punch that can go on a keychain so I always have one available.
I noticed the spinning when I had to use a toothpick or paper clip or something. There's maybe even a coating (eventually all the dried blood and bits of skin from all the stabbings will build up lol) you can put on to combat that.
You're on the right track. It's a different mouse trap, not saying it's better.
I am interested in one to replace my dollar store corn cob holder I have in my car. It's not pretty and has no cover. Keep going Michael.

I don't use nubbers and rarely have the need for a draw tool. But I look forward to seeing what you come up with. That design Tony showed is a pretty slick and well thought out tool. And those little barbs on the draw tool seem essential for it to work. But $50 leaves out a lot of cigar smokers.
