Opus X Petit Lancero

This is by far my favorite regular Opus X cigar...meaning I can usually grab a few of them throughout the year at MSRP...unlike some of the coffins that I have enjoyed.

Drink: H20 with Ice....it was HOT today!

The construction on this cigar is flawless just like most of the other Opus X cigars I have had. I am not sure of the age of this one but it has at minimum 6 months of rest on it. No soft spots or flaws in the wrapper.



The first few puffs from this cigar bring out a nice leather flavor reminiscent of chewing on your baseball glove as a kid...ass the memories! No spice at all at this point and the fun begins! The burn is not razor sharp but it's close enough for me.



Throughout the first third of the cigar the leather flavors stay dominant with a nice woody flavor in the background..this is slightly different than many of the other Opus where they have a nice spice throughout most of the cigar..let's see what the rest of the cigar brings I lost the ash when I went to switch the DVD



Getting into the second third I start picking up some nice spice, the woody flavors are beginning to pick up at this point and the leather is all but gone now.



As we work through the second third the pepper/spice has really began to pick up and is now dominating, it is not harsh in anyway as I smoked this cigar very slow as I do with all lanceros. I for one am glad the spice has picked up, it's one of the reasons I love Opus.



Moving on into the final third of the cigar the spice is hanging around and is still going smooth. The woody flavors are rounding it out nicely but the leathery flavors have not made a comeback. I am not looking forward to putting this cigar out as both movie and cigar are wonderful!



And onto the nub we go...like I said in the beginning this is my favorite Opus X cigar that is readily available, if you have a chance to pick one up definitely go for it, if you have not had an Opus before I highly recommend starting with his one. It is a phenomenal smoke with a nice flavors and does not have the "Nic Kick" like many fresh Opus X do.
