Padrons preferences
Well, I always wondered what the hype was with Padrons. Most folks place them in high esteem and the few I've smoked were merely average to me. Well the X000 series that is. I had a 1964 maddy and it was divine.
Now I'm a maduro smoker predominantly. My stash is almost exclusively maduro sticks and every time I've bought a Padron I've always went for the maduro. I always thought it odd that the maduro wrappers and the naturals were so close in shade with Padrons. Hell if they weren't next to each other in the box I don't know that I could tell you the difference.
Anyway, I've had several and they just never did it for me. Well, Monday afternoon, I'm in my B&M killing time before class and couldn't decide what I wanted. I got a wild hair and decided to try another Padron. This time, on a whim I reached for a 2000 natural ......................and loved it.
So I guess Padron is one of the few sticks that I prefer the natural wrapper in (AF Hemingway being another). Now I can't wait to try a 1964 in natural to see if that carries over.
No question here, just an observation and wondering if anyone else had this opinion of them.

I prefer Padron in the natural too - always figured I was in the minority as most love the maduro

I like the 1926 natural but the 1926 80th in maddy. Not a fan of the 1964 line. Also love the new 50th in maddy.
What makes Padron so good is that they are consistantly perfect and ready to smoke right out of the box.

I have tried both natural and maduro in the x000 series and while both are ok, neither really strike me.
On the 1926 Serie I much prefer the natural over the maduro. One of the few sticks I feel that way about - normally I'm a maduro hound through and through.
I have one 1964 of natural and maduro waiting for me to smoke. I haven't had either yet and am anxious to light both of them up!

In the 1964 line I prefer the nats over the maddies but the maddies go magically with Lagavulin 16!
-
I always reach for the naturals.

I definitely like the natural over maduro for the x000 but never really smoke either.
I have only had the 64 and 26 in natural and love them so not sure I will ever get to try a maduro.

Had the 1926 Annv. Natural....very stellar smokes.....
-
Usually maduro with Padron....haven't been smoking them like I used to years ago, but when I did, I reached for the 64 Exclusivo or the Londres.

I think the x000 series is hard to beat for the price. I too like the naturals very much but I can't say I dislike the maduros. Padrons higher end offerings are good as well. I can't say I have ever had a bad Padron, but at that price I tend to lean towards other things.
