Though I've been on the cigar side for a spell, I'm really enjoying taking up pipes. Anyhow, this has been an exciting new adventure for me. Just tripping through all the noobness and appreciate all the help I've gotten so far. Great bunch of people here.....

The slope is slipperier and more steep than the cigar one :)
Like Shemp says, dry your tobacco more. Also, smoke more slowly than you think you should.
Still being new at it myself I agree that this bunch is amazing. Nothing quite like a good bowl burning just right. Enjoy
I was once a cigar guy who tried a pipe. Now I'm a piper who occasionally has a cigar.
