This came across my facebook feed today. Copied from the pipe's and cigars webpage;
McClelland is releasing their Christmas Cheer and Holiday Spirit blends for 2016, and also for 2017 right now. Why both years at once? Due to the FDA's new deeming regulations, annual and seasonal blends will no longer be able to be made. Since Mike and Mary McNiel had already bought the leaf for the next two years, they figured that they had to bring them out now, or not at all.

I just stocked up on 2016 Christmas Cheer last night at P&C. Will post when they arrive.
Well that sold out fast.....
Maybe this is too simple....
But why dont they just release every year as "Christmas Cheer 2007" ?

Thanks for asking, Matthew. I am doing well enough and hope that all is well with you. Been neglecting my pipes for the better part of the past year and haven't kept up with the tobacco related news and this is disturbing indeed. It certainly appears to mean I won't be able to order my custom blend online anymore.
