Hello all!
I tried my first cigar at a friend's party (celebrating the upcoming birth of his first child, a boy) and was surprised at how much I enjoyed the experience! My total smoking experience before that was one cigarette a long, long time ago, which I guess is kind of a blessing since I didn't have to remind myself not to inhale!
I used to be really hardcore into wine tasting, and amusingly there are a lot of similarities in the cigar lovers' world!
I live in a suburb outside of Los Angeles and have visited a couple of local lounges, but for now I think I will stick with my backyard.
Anyhow, I spent many an evening researching this awesome hobby online, and got most of the best info from another site...which apparently went through some drama, so here I am here :) I have plenty of drama in my life at the moment and do not need more from a forum.

Ooops, totally forgot to talk about cigars!
The cigar I tried at my friend's party was a Via Havana El Morro. Since then I have only smoked one other one, a Macanudo Cafe Crystal. I got dizzy/nauseous towards the end of the hour I was smoking and have since learned that smoking a cigar at 22:00 on an empty stomach and nothing to drink is a bad idea, especially for a nicotine noob like myself.
I've got a Camacho Connecticut lined up next, as well as a Padron Delicias. Both are resting in my OXO Softgrips "humidor".
