it is bound to happen......especially with those. Enjoy!! :stogie:
I haven't smoke one at all yet. I'm thinking about doing one tonight that I got in a sampler.
Yep I'm in on the tat's. The one I smoked was a black label and I can see what the fuss is all about.
Yeah at first I was skeptical about Tats when I first saw them on the boards. Then I tried one. And now I'm a full blown Tat whore! :stogie:
I have also never had a Tat but I am eager to try one. I've been hearing it from these forums and its time to pull the trigger... what to start with is the real question.
You guys are terrible :)
I want to try the RoMa Craft Intemperance EC line. Supposedly they're mild- medium with a ton of flavor.
This doesn't sound good.......
If you're going to be a whore @Billb1960 , the only type of whore to be is a Tat whore. Anything else is uncivilized.
Just face the music and go with it.
I used to be a Liga whore...but now I think I prefer a Tat most days. I had a T52 this weekend which was great but had a Jeckyll yesterday that was outstanding. They only seem to get better with age
Hi my name is Shawn and I was a Pepin Whore...
Oh wait wrong room....
I love the Tat Blacks and the El Triunfador...both were part of my regular rotation but I LOVED pretty much everything Pepin had a hand in...
Now i smoke whats ever left in the bottom of the cooler..
The Troll
Tatuaje and Pepin (Jamie and Dad) are hands down my favorites. (Well Opus and Padron 1926 hold special spots in my heart, but are a bit $$ for everyday)
Cabaiguan is one of my favorites. I have tried the blacks, but I still favor medium cigars. Still can't quite wrap my head around the strong ones.
Make that cabaiguan guapos.
I am definitely a bit of a Tat slut - I like pretty much everything that Pete has a hand in. Everything from the many Tatuaje cigars, the L'Atelier line (haven't had one I didn't like yet), to one of my favorites - the Surrogates Tramp Stamp. Pete definitely knows what's up when it comes to blends! I really appreciate the fact that even though he has what seems like 500 lines, none of them taste the same.
Am I the only one who finds some of their stuff a little bitter?
I had a Cuban Classic and it was a bit bitter throughout but overall a good smoke, but I love the blue labels. The few I smoked had no bitterness to them at all.
I had bad luck with the Miamis too, 3 of them were pretty bitter and kept going out on me, but I really like the reds. Never had an issue with them.
So far I really like My Fathers, Lats, DPG blues, and even LADC Amors, but Tat reds are the only Tats I have enjoyed so far.
Johnson and Garcia are really hit and miss for me. Some of the stuff I love, but others strike me average with a little bitterness/bite to them.
haha figured I'd get that.
I'll dig into some reserves and black labels next to see if I'll catch the Tat bug a little more.
Welcome to the club @Billb1960
They are the best cigars out there, so it's no surprise you got hooked as well. As for the fausto and tattoo, I liked the tattoo from the beginning and hated the fausto. I now like the fausto though, so you might too after a while.
Those reservas though man..and the black label. And the Cojuno 2012, especially broadleaf. You know...or you will know, and your pocket book will HATE you.
Enjoy brother! :stogie:
Well I finally got to try another Tat yesterday. I grabbed a black label from the B&M and dry boxed it half the day then smoked it on the way home last night.
I enjoyed it a lot. I didn't notice any flavor shifts, but that was ok because I liked the flavor, well until going into the last third. I noticed the draw tightened up, then the flavor stabbed my tongue like hot bitter charcoal.
I turned my dome light on and saw a bunch of black sap oozing out where I had punched the cigar. Shame cause I was really enjoying it. I didn't want to drip the stuff on anything so just called it quits. Maybe a cut would have been better. I would like to try another, but then again at $10, I think I would rather have an Anejo. I'll probably grab a few more black labels in the future though, when I make it back to that B&M for another shot.
I'm trying to like Tat, but aside from the red labels, it's been a bumpy ride. From my 1st impressions, I'd say these black labels certainly have hope though.
I'm guessing this is the "tar ball" I hear some complain about which I never had. Funny I mentioned AF, cause I think it was the Short Story that some have mentioned tar balling near the end.
Tried some of Tatuaje Red label cigars a short while ago, didn't like them. The Tatuaje 7th Capa Especial and the 7th Natural I've been buying by the box and smoking
pretty much daily,ok,sometimes two a day. They've replaced the Cabaiquan Corona Extras,Imperiales,Robusto Extras and Guapos 46 for me. Smoked a box of the El Triunfador #6,but was rather unimpressed with them. The La Riqueza #5 and #6 I did like a lot,and will buy again.
Posting this because in reading the posts in this thread, realized that likes /dislikes amongst the Tatuajes sure do vary from smoker to smoker.
Thanks for your list and opinions. I didn't realize there were so many. So far I'm just liking red and probably black if I get one without stem sap (whatever that nasty stuff is).
