Rope pipe tobacco is something that I've never tried. After reading some postings about rope tobacco, I'm interested in trying it but need some guidance as to which ones are good and where to get them.

I think I have a few ropes hanging around if you want to try before you buy. I should have some Black Irish X and a couple different flavored ones.

twist, rope, all the same.
@Haebar please let us know what you think.
Sam Gawith Brown No. 4 is good.
Here's an experiment - I've tried it, it works! :)
Shave your chest.
Smoke a couple bowls of brown no. 4.
All your chest hair will have grown back (not recommended for the ladies)
Just got some happy bogie and rum twist coming. I can send you some, if you aren't already getting them from Wayne.
Tambo and rope is all i seem to smoke nowadays :clappy:
Tambolaka found it...thanks..
Rum Twist and Brown Bogie are the business. Look up my review of Black Irish XX for an accurate picture of that one. I also keep Kendal Twist on hand.
Out of all of them, I really love rum twist. That stuff is just plain awesome.
Black Irish XX was it to much smoke or to heavy?
The maple is real subtle in smell. I have only smoked it a couple times and don't really recall tasting it in the smoke. BUT was working in the shop making stuff on the lathe not paying much attention to anything except what I was making and drinking a soda at the same time. There may be a hint of maple taste when smoking it if you were to pay attention. :p
I have not cut off a hunk to chew it yet either.
@OnePyroTec sent me some samples of some twist tobaccos! Thank you Wayne!

You quite welcome. And be careful with the black X, it can put a grown man down!
I smoked a bowl of the Sweet Maple this afternoon in a Charatan second. I actually started to smoke it last night but realized as I was cutting it that it needed some serious air time. It was very satisfying from the start. The body of the smoke was substantial right after getting a good light, body that I usually don't get to until I am 10-20% into a bowl of most other tobaccos. Maybe I didn't cut it correctly because I had some trouble keeping it lit. When it comes to smoking twist/rope, I am a newbie. I enjoyed the flavor; didn't really detect maple but lots of tobacco flavor. When I got down to half a bowl, I stirred it up with my pipe tool, tamped it down lightly and fired it up again. It continued to be satisfying to the end.
