Are Horseshoe and JollyRogers taking this bet? YOU decide!

Fellow bums - we need your help. This may be the most important poll you've voted on since the last poll I posted.

I am well known for my ability to say no to a cigar purchase. @Horseshoe and I have had an on-again/off-again bet where I won't make any cigar purchases until xx/xx/xxxx date. Loser has to give a cigar of winner's choice to them from loser's collection.

I would have won all previous bets but @Horseshoe cheats and can't be trusted. And now @JollyRogers wants in on the action. But this time I'm making it a fair bet:

Bet - DogRockets won't purchase* another cigar until the Tatuaje Monsters Hyde release this fall. Winner gets a cigar of their choice from loser's collection. Horseshoe and JollyRogers don't think I'll last but I know I will.

So cigarbum - should @Horseshoe and @JollyRogers agree to this bet? YOU decide!!!








* exemptions from the term "purchase" are: Tat 2015 TAA release, any Tat TAA previous release, any Tat Monster of any size, any B&M sticks, or anything DogRockets is already committed to buying as of the time of this poll (yes Brent that includes the Jericho Hills you're selling me).

There should be NO Exemptions! A bet is a bet, straight up.

I demand new options to be added. We take the bet straight up no exemption. And last option should be: why bother with another poll, DogRockets will lose, just pay up now to prevent another poll on a ruling.

Some history. Last time Brent and I bet I had already agreed to buy some cigars from him in a split. I paid after the bet began and he claimed he won. Heavily disputed and unbelievably shady by Brent. This time he can't cry wolf later on.

False. You purchased sticks from a B&M, some monsters, and something else. These were all purchased by yourself. Their was proof provided by many other people. The first bet that you lost was lost while you were on in New Orleans and you purchased sticks from a B&M. Both bets were straight up with no exemptions. Me 2, You 0. Back to back bet champ!

I second this motion!

Absolutely no exemptions. That's a pretty broad list of would be outs. I would say if anything you won't buy any Tats until the Hyde release but that would be setting yourself up for failure.

That is an awful lot of exemptions.
I say either no exemptions at all, or remove the following: "any B&M sticks, any deal from @Heath , or any other Tat I may at some point decide I need," as these are too broad and easily manipulated. (even though I'm all for finding loopholes! That makes it too easy!"

Betting with exemptions is like playing poker with wild cards. Real men don't do it.

If you lose, you fork over no less than 20% (each) of your "illegal" purchase to both Horseshoe and JollyRogers, rounding up to the nearest whole number. Bulk purchases become splits, and small purchases would still be single cigar payouts.

I'm with the majority here I think, no exemptions except anything that is already in the works. I will add if the bet is taken with no exceptions then you try to weasel out of it with another poll you owe all of us that participated in this conversation a cigar. :stogie:

I'm all for exceptions, but even I say limit to stuff you're already involved in. The bet should be I won't buy any more Tats until the Hyde release, but we know you're weak.

I dont understand what happened to the 4th july

I say the only exemptions should be any offering from Hatuey...You probably have not heard of them...some of their offerings are decent, some are less so. You would be taking a chance if you really need that cigar purchasing fix.

Even with all the discussion surrounding the exceptions, the bum is voting that @Horseshoe and @JollyRogers are making this bet. As a sign of my good faith, I'll go back to the OP and remove the mention of Heath and any other Tats of my choosing. Man this is getting restrictive!

I see a major flaw here... you forgot all about the Crowned Heads TAA release. Its likely to be a killer stick and one I wouldn't want to miss out on!

The poll has closed. And the "no" vote has it. Gotta say I'm surprised by this. I suspect @Horseshoe created a few fake accounts to vote no at the last minute. But live by the poll, die by the poll - there is no bet @Horseshoe and @JollyRogers .
