dose size really matter????

just for some kicks and giggles whats the largest cigar you guys have smoked or have resting...
If you have smoked it what did you think of it..... for the large size Good flavor just not your thing?? perfect size for ya?? too long of a smoke????
if its resting what is holding you back from smoking it.... scared??? time???? Nic buzz??

i will kick it off with my largest i have smoked is a 6x60 animal cracker and i really loved it but it was just too big for my liking and not time wise to big but too big as in i look funny smoking it lol

The 7x70 Asylum Ogre - way too big, took forever to smoke, and I didn't like the taste/flavors.

Never again.

6X60 is as big as I'll go and I usually am not a fan of them. IMO most big cigars are big just to be big and aren't blended to be big. There are some exceptions but in general I avoid most things 56 and up.

It's not that I get vitamin N poisoning, I just hate feeling like I'm going to have to detach my jaw for it. When you are used to 52-44 it can be quite the difference.

The LD50 has a good chance of killing you so I'd say dose size matters a lot. Also, dosage is dependent on weight and species. The LD50 for nicotine for example, is 50mg/kg in rats but only around 10mg/kg in humans. Strange, isn't it...

I've had a 6x60 and didn't like it. Too big for me.

I like smaller ring gauge sticks personally. Give me a plain ol' 5x50 and I'll be happy. :stogie:

I have a 6 X 60 La Vieja sitting in the humidor that I'm too scared to smoke. I actually don't remember ordering this size. I'll wait for summer to swing around and then choose a lazy day to give it a try.

I personally do not enjoy a cigar that takes more that 90 minutes to smoke.

The largest I have is something crazy like 10 x 70, but I'll never smoke that thing. The two biggest I have, that I actually plan on smoking are an Ogre at 7 x 70, and an LFD Digger. I'd consider an Opus A to be a big one, but really it's just long, not to "girthy."

Digger. Took about 3 hrs. Head was spinning.

Once when I was a kid I smoked one of those massive souvenir cigars just to do it. Not sure the actual size but it looked like a small baseball bat. Pretty much burned a hole clear through my tongue :)

Size does matter..hint hint...coronas,.lonsdales, and lanceros are the best.

I have some man o war ruination 60's and I rarely smoke one.

The issues I have with massive cigars is that they take forever to smoke, the burn is hard to keep level on a 60+, and usually cost more (especially here where tobacco is taxed by weight). Besides that I can't see how a manufacturer could fill thousands upon thousands of these giant sticks with top notch tobacco - there has to be a compromise there somewhere. I've had a few 5x60s which is about my limit. Churchills are in a similar boat, but I'd favour them because of the RG reduction. I enjoy NUBs but only because they are only short and fit better with my time frame for smoking. I do want to get a 10x60 or somesuch one day just to have for a conversation piece, or to hit a burglar with :lol:

Had a 6x60 once, but it was loosely filled so smoking time wasn't very long. Not long ago I tried a CAO MX2 Toro that was won in a contest here...It was a nice smoke until about 2 1/4 hours in I started feeling the nic attack and had to put it down. It probably had another 20 minutes or so left on it. I have a handful of similarly sized sticks in waiting, but they'll be smoked only when I have a couple hours to do nothing else. Lately I've been more drawn to 50rg and smaller, and no longer than 5 1/2". I guess I don't like the feeling of having a donkey dong in my mouth. :stogie:

I won't go above 60rg anymore. A box-press 60 I might consider since it's not truly 60 - it's a little smaller, know what I mean?

Right around 50rg is the sweet spot. Haven't really gotten into the lanceros yet.

Store-roll bought for me in Miami (at Cuba Tobacco Cigar Co. on Calle Ocho) by my brother-in-law. I'm not sure what the "official" size was supposed to be. That's a Los Blancos 9 lancero next to it for size comparison - no forced perspective:

It was actually one of the best cigars I've ever had. Very smooth and complex. It didn't take as long as I thought it might to smoke, either. Very enjoyable experience.

This. Still in my coolidor and just haven't set fire to it yet.

Largest I've ever smoked was a Room 101 Big Payback, a 7x70. It was a gift from my host at a herf, he handed them to us all at the beginning, so we all smoked them. It was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, but I have no desire to smoke another one.

The longest I have resting is probably a Partagas Lusitanias (7.6"), the widest is probably a Behike 54, at 54rg (obviously). Nothing larger than that in my stock that I can think of.

I have a DPG Blue "A" that's been resting in the top shelf of my humi forever since that's the only place it'll fit. Cello is pretty brown, so maybe it's time has come.

The Tatuaje Reserva "A" is also a fine smoke. I bought a box of ten when they first came out in the early 2000's and enjoyed every single one of them when I had the time.

Not a fan of anything over 54 RG, with a few exceptions. I prefer 40-48 for most of my smokes. Better burn, faster aging/stabilization, more comfortable in hand and mouth, better representation of a blend...

I don't smoke too often so I like my smoke to last.
50ish rg 4.5-5.5" is an awesome size for me.

Never cared to try anything bigger and still experimenting smaller.

I do have 1 6x60 in my humidor and it's kind of annoying cause it's too big to want to light, but I really wish I would because it takes up so much space!

I just finished an LFD Digger from @Tobias Lutz I think, not sure. It lasted 4 hours but it burned good and all the resting made it mellow and tasty! Corona is perfect for me.

When one cigar maker saw that a newly introduced larger size cigar was selling well Knowing it would take some time to match the Profile of their smaller cigars, simply increased the size. Setting of ripple effect other brands followed suit.
And here we are.
A wide array of jaw stretching, jaw dislocating sizes.
Don Pepin Garcia blends some mighty fine cigars,he is I believe one helluva good blender,
still, even some of the My Father cigars fail to match in the larger sizes the **flavour snuffly spraklles** of more traditional sizes.

Personally, I prefer Lancero, Petite Corona and Corona. In that order.

My go to daily size is Toro or No. 3. 6x50.

FYI - We just came out with a 7x60 called Profeta AK-60. 30% stronger than a Digger. Lots of flavor... I tend to smoke the 6x52 version called Profeta AK-52... The AK-60 took me over 3 hours to smoke.

30% stronger then a digger... Nap time for me!!!

it really seems like we are going bigger now a days. look at sizes of newer cigars and there is a 60 RG like its a common size now. its now so much a gimick like they used to be

Sometimes it bothers me that cigars only come out in larger sizes for certain lines. As someone who never has two hours to smoke, I automatically decide not to purchase such things.

That was more or less my experience with the Ogre. I thought the first half was pretty good, then it just tasted like smoke after that. Probably my taste buds and nasal nerve endings were saturated at that point.
