Should I store my cigars with the cello on or off? Couldn't help but pop the forum cherry on this one lmao. I figure we had to get it out of the way sooner or later

It depends on the barometric pressure and what direction your humidor faces :D
omg i saw this and was like really and than saw who posted it and had to laugh. cut the ends off so the foot can breath but you still have the protection of the cello!!
I too thought we had our first "cello on or off" thread. lol
Good one.
I guess I won't start my, "is this a real cuban" or "is this mold" thread now. :)
Here is one, light/toast the cigar before or after your cut the head?
RG for BILL :o
Had to go there didn't you Cole..... :p

I always keep the cello on. Who's the guy with the pic with the pile of wrappers? A classic post, IMO.
Bump for you! I love this topic, kmsl. You did the right thing to go ahead and mention it. :)
For the new guys who may genuinely not know. There is no right or wrong way. I keep my non cubans in cello to prevent me from tearing the wrapper when handling them. I've been told it also slows aging a bit, if that's your goal.
I don't have a method. If I feel like leaving the cello on, I do. Otherwise I take it off.
I leave cello on all my cigars except for my Guten Calas.
If I receive the cigar with cello, I leave it on.
If it comes without cello, I do not attempt to put cello on it.
KISS
Nice chello
I can't wait for the first "I put my half-smoked cigar back in my humidor" post!
Lol, I thought we would get a mold or plume thread first. I am so out of touch. It's mold.
As far as cello? I leave'm the way God made'm.
I keep my cello on....nothing like the sight of yellow cello.
Some people just don't know what to do with that cello!

I buy cellophane in bulk so can wrap my Cubans. If you have a popular B&M, do like I do, scrounge the waste bins for discarded cello and use to wrap the ones you get without it. Tatuajes benefit tremendously from double-cello and all my Opus X wear four layers!
Too much cello is never enough!
Did someone say cello?
CELLO ON!

Cello stays on if it came with it, otherwise bareback.
Except for the glass top Cohibas I bought on the beach in Mexico. Those I wrap in unlubed Trojans prior to throwing into my humi. For "extra" protection.
lmao. what is surprising is that no one has done some brand bashing yet. or did I miss something. we should get that over with too.
This is something that people need to keep in perspective. We all know a few brands that get little to no love. But if we just go around bashing companies its harder to get sponsors on board with us. I don't see anything wrong with dissuading someone from a brand and giving good reason as to why but straight out bashing is just bad taste IMO.
the "Gurkha is worthless" or "Gurkha is nothing but a rip off threads" where very distastefull and a waste of time. now like @HIM said its ok to say "hey you may wanna give x a shot if you thought y was a good smoke because its alittle more worth the price or higher quality or whatever"
Because I need at least 10 characters to post. I say, "On!" Thx, HIM.
I gotta agree with the RP and Gurkha stuff. They do have some lines that are good, as long as you're not paying full MSRP. I just don't like the fact that they flood CI with a million lines that no one can keep straight. But that's their own business.
I agree with this, we certainly don't want to dissuade companies from getting on board with us.
But there's another reason as well. If someone likes Gurkha or RP (which I have already mentioned that I do in fact like several of the lines from RP), we don't want them to be dissuaded from posting here on the forum from fear of getting insulted or bashed either. A man who enjoys Gurkha cigars is just as much as a BOTL as one who smokes nothing but Padrons or Davidoffs.
We're all different folks. One man's dog rocket is another man's special occasion smoke. What is good and what is not is completely subjective (assuming construction is acceptable). If we all liked the same things there wouldn't be nearly as much cool stuff to choose from.
I've heard the statement on Puff many times, "Smoke what you like and like what you smoke". Who gives a damn if someone else doesn't like it.
