In honor of Don, Herf N Turf; as you feel inclined; post up your toasts and tributes in the coming days to him here; whether that be a cigar, a bowl, a spirit, ale, or what you feel is appropriate.
As a family joined together, a toast to all that he has done and brought to our community....
I'm in Park City on vacation right now and will be home tomorrow. If anyone wants, maybe we can all have a virtual herf on Sunday. Pick that cigar that you've been holding of smoking and light it up in honor of "The Walrus" because, as evidenced here, you never know when that cigar you smoke might be your last one.

My most prized cigar is a 10 year old Behike. The moment never seemed BIG enough for me to set it on fire. Remembering Don and celebrating his life is that moment for me. He lead by example by attraction rather than promotion.

I obtained a Cohiba Behike a couple of years ago and was saving it for I'm not sure what. Last night seemed like the perfect time to light that up in honor of Don.

Not too long ago Scott W. phoned and said he and Don were in Brooklyn, walking around and smoking cigars,suggested I join them.
Scott turned the phone over to Don who also invited me to join them, saying "Come on join us, I'm always glad to meet another forum member."
I wasn't able do so. That was the only contact I've had with Don.
Now to read news of his death and realizing it came so shortly after his posting about the #1 Top cigar he smoked.
Would like to think that Don figured it was time to smoke that one,and so it was.
Don shall be missed and remembered.

The only exchange I ever had with Don was a two line conversation about aged Brazilias. Tonight in his honor I'm smoking my finest Cuban and burying this Brazilia in the deepest depths of my humidor. I remember that post well. I still have a couple stashed away, but only with 2.5 years so far to experience what he did. It sounded orgasmic. His posts were always descriptive as hell.....Quote:

fuente Anejo and my thoughts for his family and friends. his thread on how to season a humidor is a must read and helped me season my first big humi. He answered questions I had and helped a great deal. He will be missed. So many possible years ahead, you never know when something will happen. Many will be smoked in his honor and memory
