Has anyone here ever been? Sounds fun
Yeah no doubt, went to google cigar fest for CI and this popped. I'm going to try and make it, sounds pretty fun
I did see it last year but they didn't announce it this early - was only about a month or two before. I was thinking of going but had something else going on -
probably a golf tourney or something silly like that. I'd be up for going this year - especially if you Bums are headed over.
I'd say don't expect too much from the cigars. This is a shop that is all about the once in a while smoker and they mostly carry only the big name stuff. Think Rocky Patel, CAO, Camacho, Brickhouse, Macanudo. They do not have boutique or small batch stuff - no Crowned Heads, maybe 1 Tatuaje, no Liga or Opus.
On the calender...Going to the finger Lakes this year on the Big Black Moped....Cigars, Meat, Buffalo Wings....and BEER....No Dogrockets......Buller
Strap the sticks onto that sissy bar and I'll meet you and @restomod for a little golf !
Penna stogey- if you like beer you have to check out some of the places on the beer trail here! We have a bunch of wineries also!

Thanks for a little insider tip, yeah I figured they were going for quantity then quality at the price point. Either way, wouldn't mind having those, and does sound like a blast. I'm going to try and make it out, will knew for sure once the date gets closer.
Yes Kyle, beer is my friend....Once spring shows up and watching Tony at the Masters, then we can plan accordingly.....
@Cigarer @restomod
Went over to check out the new lounge at Smokin' Bear today and wound up having a cigar with one of the owners of Jeneff cigars. I guess it's an older brand that's been sold a few times and this guy is one of the new owners. Made in a factory run by a former Fuente factory employee and fairly regional - he said NY and Pa was his basic sales region.
Anyways - he was one of the manufacturers at Buffalo Cigarfest last year and said it was a great time and we need to go. Music and food were both awesome and patrons could talk with manufacturers and reps. You get your cigars with your ticket but there are also cigars available if you want to buy.
Just thought I'd pass it along - sounds like a good time and I've got it on my calendar.
And FWIW - he went on to tell me he's friends with Jose Blanco and that he is coming for a blending session at Buffalo Cigars in the next few months. He highly recommended it as he said the knowledge you get out of it is fantastic. He claims he's going to try and set up a private one down at Smokin' Bear but that could be more b/s and bragging than reality. Doubt you guys would want to make the drive for something like that - just passing along the info as it was interesting.
Awesome! I suppose I'll have to have a real talk with the gf about coming out cause this keeps sounding better and better... Side note, you just be pretty excited to have a lounge getting put in there
I am, but it's about a 45 min drive and not just down the street. They close at 7 so weeknights after work are pretty much out but maybe once in a while on the weekend in the winter months I can get over to have one.
Sounds good on buttering up the gf - get to it !
That's pretty cool, hopefully I get up that way to check it out! And keep us updated on the details.
Still hit or miss right now with the snow, a few inches supposed to drop this week but then 40's this weekend so I hope that the last of it. Bitch about NY is we use salt so even if the snow is gone I don't take my classic out until the spring rains have really washed the roads down. That sh*t eats up metal faster than anything and especially loves to munch on chrome.
Really happy for TONY, he has somewhere to hang out 10 months a year. While the courses are being used for ski runs.
Actually my regular course is a major hub in the maze of snowmobile trails in this area Alan. It's typical to see a dozen trailers in the parking lot where people drive in from Buffalo or wherever there isn't snow to drop and go. About 4 or 5 trails all connect right there and the local snowmobile club operates out of there in the winter. We're a 4 season club - even have a bowling alley !

We're a month away gents - who is planning on attending ? Should I be getting a ticket or what ?
Tickets say $129 plus $21.35 in EventBrite fees but I saw a post that said discount code BC20 may take off $20 if it still works.
What say you ?
@Hardheaded @restomod you see that Nice Ash in Fairport is having one next Thursday ? I cannot make it as I'll either be driving to Virginia or playing in a golf tournament (yeah I know, long story) but here's the link in case you boys are interested.

I'm probably out for the buffalo deal, it's scheduled to be our Ryder cup between to golf courses that day.
I did see the Nice Ash deal but am out of town. I can't catch a break.
I'm going to try to attend. It would be great to meet some of you in person.
Ryan
Well that stinks but I fully understand you gotta play for the Cup. We just won ours so you better come thru Kev !
It's weird that Nice Ash would have it on a week night but they always were a little off beat.
OK, so you gotta save it for the Orgy !
Ryan - check out the thread here on the Orgy at Cigars International during Cigarfest. Next May if you're still hanging around us Bums I got room in the Toyota ! I'll probably be at the Buffalo one - will know as we get closer.
Any of you Bums planning on going ?
Here's a link for $79 ticket if you are

Bought my ticket this morning. Hope to see some of you all there.
Ryan
Buffalo, Buffalo, did you say Buffalo..

I will be there. Anyone else besides Ryan and I ?
I think somewhere in the rules it states pants must be worn (or dress, skirt or kilt)
Ryan
Just thought I'd give a quick review for you Bums who couldn't make it.
Cigarfest was about as I expected.
That shop doesn't carry alot of the stuff you or I might like but does have a ton of General and the cigars in the bag were ok but not a great selection.
Here's what I got:
Nat Sherman Metropolitan Connecticut Anglers
H Upmann Banker Annuity
CAO Flathead Steel Horse Apehanger
La Palina Classic Connecticut Churchill
Perdomo Factory Tour Blend Sun Grown Churchill
Hiram & Solomon The Veiled Prophet Grand Monarch
Counsellor Lonsdale
Cigar Obsession Final Third Robusto
Psyko Seven Robusto
Oro Estrella Toro
Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real Toro
JM's Dominican Toro Connecticut
Exactus Clasico Torpedo
and an Aging Room Quattro Concerto, a custom roll (which wasn't bad) and a Kafie San Andres that I smoked at the event.
Food and music were good and I met up with a few BOTL's from another forum so that was cool to sit and smoke with them all day.
@Ryan137 and I missed meeting up, but afterwards we discovered we were pretty close to bumping into each other and just didn't know it :banghead:
The reps were all in one building and they would tell you about their cigars but the shop had a little store area set up to sell cigars at shop prices with NY taxes so the deals weren't anything special. 10% off a box or something along those lines.
I'd go again if it was a chance to meet up with some of you fine folk, but if it were just me going to smoke I'd pass.
Glad I got the $50 off my ticket price - others weren't so lucky.
Tony let me know how you like the Hiram and Solomon. The guys who produce these cigars are from Jersey and have a lounge not to far from me. I had the opportunity to try the original blend when they first started and it was OK, then had a production one a year later and was not impressed at all. Supposedly the new batch is supposed to be good, but I haven't had the chance to try it.
