Not sure about reverse osmosis. Always go distilled to be 100% sure. A cooler of cigars is a terrible thing to mold up. As for how much to use? While you can use too little, You can't really use too much of it is a reliable fixed RH product (Heartfelt, HCM, Boveda). I try to go double the recommended amount just to make it more worry free. I would lean towards HCM or Heartfelt just for the ease of re-charging and long term cost savings.

You are correct, Jesse.
No to RO water. Always distilled.even with active humidification systems like Bob Staebell's Set n Forget or Cigar Oasis.

Ummm. You do know that Bob sells a reverse osmosis system on his site and his little blurb implies that it is safe to use for his stuff?

I wouldn't replace my existing RO system and spend $329 on his when distilled water is cheap.

100% agree, with distilled water being 99 cents a gallon there is no reason to put one in just for a humi. I was just pointing out that RO is ok per Bob, so the correct info was out there.
