My one question - do we expect plume to develop on an entire box of the same cigar, stored under the same conditions? Or would we see it on only one or a handful of cigars out of the same box? Curious if it's so rare that even all cigars in the same box won't develop plume.
I've never seen it in real life myself, of course.
It generally happens to all the cigars from the box stored in that particular place.
There are a few ways to tell the difference:
1) It's crystallized not a mold-like flowering...it really looks like suuuuper tiny salt crystals, microscopic.
2) It doesn't wipe off with a brushing of your finger or even a damp towel.
3) It sparkles if a pic is taken with flash.
4) It generally covers the entire wrapper of the cigar, mold tends to grow out from one specific spot.
5) If you look at it from arms length, it looks like an old, dusty cigar. It look like something you'd find in an attic and you blew all the thick dust off.
