I think
@NeverBend
had some info on the Pueblo Dominicanas and why they're no longer available. Or at least some history, right Pete? I feel like you did a review a while back with some good info.

How did it smoke?
Kris (@ProjectSunFire),
I can appreciate your enthusiasm, as Tim (@Cardinal) mentions, I do like these Pueblo Dominicano. AJ Fernandez made, with 6 months age or more they're like a richer, fuller but smoother version of Pinolerlo (also AJ). One of the best snorking cigars I've ever had. Slight differences between 2012 and 2013 batch, but aside from the silly band artwork, these were a great purchase and an exciting cigar. I like AJ's blends, well suited to my taste, and the Pueblo is the best of his cigars that I've tried.
Pete
2009 Fonseca 1907 Toro Natural with coffee light (half n' half).
This natural is far better than the stinker EMS version, a decent milder Dominican, but it took years of age to get to this point. This one was starting to smoke really well because as I write about the Pueblo, it was taking on taste elements of the better cigar and I found my mouth watering. Mental suggestion indeed!

Hi Tim,
Thanks for jogging my memory about the review that I wrote in August, 2015
http://www.cigarbum.com/forum/non-ha...blo+dominicano
I forgot that I'd written it, a lot of stuff happened right after that.

It smoked great. The first half-inch or so was a bit mediocre, but it came to life after that. It had a smooth, aged character to it.

Hi Farrell,
The 2013 start off as nothing special, just as you noted. Glad you liked it.
The snork (retrohale) starts aggressively but smooths quickly and has sweet caramel-milk with spice, very Cubanesque.

2004 Hoyo de Monterrey Torpedo with coffee light (cup #2), glorious morning.
These are good cigars, perfect burn and like a mild Bolivar in look, construction, taste, retro but a little tight on the pack, but still a reasonable draw. Bob (@Allusred), I suspect that these may not have been regular line sticks but they aren't marked differently. JR had a very close working relationship with Danby-Palicio / Villazon for many years and they made so many Hoyo marques, some good, some pretty bad.
JR ran a special about 8 years ago, buy a bundle of Hoyos and get a free denim jacket. Jackets were top shelf quality and I was giving them as gifts. Unfortunately the Hoyo cigars were inconsistent, some good and others mediocre.

Beautiful weather up here in NYC & things are slow at work!
Gonna start with the Elegancia and see where things go from there.
