I have two small coolidors I use to "rest" cigars. Mostly I just buy cigars once a year, right after the Holidays when everyone is broke and money is tight, and I can get decent prices on the bid sites.
I put the years purchases in one of the small coolidors, and there they sit, untouched for two years. The next year's cigars go in the second coolidor. On the following year, the first coolidor is emptied of it's two-year-rested cigars, and is filled with this year's purchases. These two small coolidors rotate ad nauseam.
So, my humidors, and large coolidors are filled with cigars a minimum of two years old, and this is my smoking stock.
I keep no records at all, and can't imagine wanting to keep paperwork for a supposedly relaxing hobby. I do have a very good memory, and can remember most of my purchases, though.
