No idea if this is true or not, but I had heard from someone who was relatively well connected that a lot of the regular production Tat blends were all fairly similar. It may have been Seth from the now defunct Seth's Humidor, not positive though. Whoever it was, the statement was basically that there is a core "Tatuaje" blend and for each new cigar line they swap one or two leaves and that's it. If that's the case, what they are doing would make sense. You would have far more raw materials available for the better selling blends. That all could be a bunch of
