This one is near my driveway where I sit. This one’s name is Squeaky as it’s the noisiest little thing, and the only one who’s mostly comfortable with me sitting close by. It’s a either a female or juvenile black-throated hummingbird:

My neighbor across the street has 2 pet birds in his house and he loves birds. He has a parakeet that he has had 12 years. He gave up eating chicken about 4 months ago because he felt guilty when he ate it in front of his birds, so he gave it up all together. He loves beef and pork though.

There’s not much off the menu for me. Many, many moons back I lived with my grandparents for a bit. It was my last trip hunting and I came back empty-handed and was a little bummed. My grandma told me I could shoot one of the deer in the backyard. I told her that first of all it was illegal (not enough acreage) and secondly it would be too much like cheating as they were a bit used to people. And I greatly enjoyed watching them in the mornings with my coffee.
