I've swung from one extreme to the other with this, and surprisingly decided I appreciate the one extreme more so than settling in the middle When I got started I smoked everything in everything, then I went through a stage of dedicating everything to categories like: aro, English, cherry, burley, Virginia, and certain special blends. I have since returned to the "everything in everything" model and it is suiting me just fine.

I will say that I have only really strongly noticed ghosting one time.

I smoked some Peterson Irish Flake in a pipe (I believe it was a cob actually) and the next day pulled it out and packed it with Elizabethan Mixture. I could taste the Irish Flake very clearly.

I've heard cobs don't ghost nearly as bad so it kind of surprised me. Of course Irish Flake is a strong tasting tobacco.
I don't know if I just didn't clean it good enough or what. That may well be the case.

Have you tried a Lakeland tobacco, Paul? They will ghost the heck out of a pipe, but I like them so I'm not complaining. I have two briars that I inadvertently dedicated to Lakeland blends. No matter what I smoke in them, I can taste the Lakeland essence, Tonquin bean or something.

I have not had any Lakeland blends as of yet.
You mention Tonquin. I have had SG 1792 Flake which I think is flavored with the same thing. Are they similar?

I haven't tried 1792 yet; BryGuySC says they are not.
