Afternoon Bill,

Butz-Choquin, the brand has been around since the mid nineteenth century but they were 'late-comers' to St. Calude (~1950). I only know their reputation through the 1980s and they were a respected French maker.

The bowl is machine made but it's pretty certain that the $700 Dunhill bowl is too. Both shapes have acceptable wall thickness and good proportions. Can't venture a guess on their smoking potential without knowing their briar.

Nice look and the mounting (sterling) appears well rendered. Personally (of course) I'd only have interest in the billiard .

Hope that helps.

Pete
