Understood! I guess "better" was a bad word choice. From everything I've gathered from you guys each type of pipe material has it's own characteristics and effects on the smoking experience.
The cobb being a more readily available material make it more affordable for a pipe smoker to build a "rotation". And yes, as pointed out to me by @Haebar , there are some very affordable briars out there, but a cobbs price point can't be beat!
