You won't regret this purchase. I have two Mark Tinsky pipes, both terrific smokers.

It was represented honestly enough and the price was right; I just wasn't prepared for the reality of the situation. It was just close enough to disposable to encourage me to risk screwing it up with my first restoration.
I rolled up my sleeves and got busy.
I've got to tell you, I was not sad. She's now one of my favorites, sweet and cool smoking and easy on the eyes.

Hi Jim,
Good to see you back and having seen some 'ashtrays' I'm not surprised at the quality of your restoration.
I'm most impressed with the way that you handled the bowl rim. You restored it without compromising it, very nice job. Glad that it smokes well.
Pete
I promised a friend that I'd re-evaluate McClellands so I bought tins or 1oz samples of their #2010, Tawny Flake and Black Woods along with Orlik Golden Sliced, and Gawith Hoggarth Kendal Mixture (and some pipe cleaners), all before the current P&C 48-hour 15% sale (site-wide) that's a good vehicle to buy some McClelland tins.
I'll also be buying a cobb, first one in many years, as part of my 'Perestroika', a bit like if Mao buying a McDonalds franchise to stick his toe in to Capitalism.

Just picked up this on the bay of E - should arrive next week.

Purports to come with original contents - we'll see; I was mainly interested in the tin as it appears to be in pretty close to mint condition.
Can anyone hazard a guess as to how old this might be? A slightly older BOTL co-worker says he remembers Velvet coming in tins well into the 70's but couldn't remember when they switched to plastic.
