I like the Weck brand jars that I buy at Crate & Barrel. They have a separate, reusable rubber seal, and their glass lids are closed by two SS clips. Very good sealing, and very convenient. They come in a range of sizes.

Last year I harvested leaves from several Virginia Bright tobacco plants and made them into tight twists. Checked them a few weeks ago, and they've got that sweet sugary Virginia grassy note that says they are aging quite nicely. They've been in wide-mouth mason jars tightly sealed since the day I twisted the leaves (cured in a shed until almost but not quite dry).

As for my Gawith ropes, they are coiled up in jars too, and doing quite fine after years of storage.
