I'd say if you order a kit by the time your done with it you'll have a pretty good handle on the process. With the few extra things you'll need besides the leaf the whole start up is less than $100 and you should at least get a box worth of cigars out of it. The smaller the vitolas you roll the more cigars you can get out of it.

I haven't rolled any for quite a while, but it's definitely something I enjoy.

My goal is to home-roll the bulk of my NC consumption, and spend the money I save to upscale my imaginary purchases.

It was when you got into this that I knew it was something we needed to highlight and support. You were very much on my mind when I built this subforum. I have no doubt that what you're rolling is probably every bit as good as what can be had off the shelf. I can imagine that the enjoyment derived from the simply "doing" of it can be as enticing as the hobby itself.

Good to see you back, Mike

Don't make them too nice...you might disappear in the middle of the night and wake up chained to a rolling table in some central American country rolling customs for some tin pot dictator.

Dammit, now I'm interested in this. That's all I need. Another hobby.
I've watched a few Youtube vids on it and it sure looks fun to play with different blends and try to come up with something you like.
Check out my Youtube channel, Razorback Piper Guy if you like that sort of thing.

Yes, that's the fun of it - making unique blends.

Where might one find the starter kits that have been mentioned?
I've been eyeing molds for a while but they all seem eye-waterinly expensive and I don't quite fancy making my own out of PVC tubing...
