I can see how that could happen with the Melanio. I really like Oliva, not because I think they're the best cigars out there, but because they are good cigars with realistic prices. For me it was the LP Undercrown. They're not bad, but being in the LP line, I was expecting another 9 or T52.

I smoked the yellow hammer. Spent $27 on it. No unicorn farts, no Angels singing nothing. The melanio maduro are a lot better

Mine is a Herrera Esteli. Maybe it was a dud, maybe the B&M I got it from had it too wet. It was ok, the flavors were a bit muted. It wasn't a bad cigar, it just wasn't epic like so many people had described it to me.

I'd say let one rest for a bit. These have always hit the mark for me. I tried one of the LE lanceros and didn't like it at all. Got another one and let it rest. What a difference it was. If they are wet it makes a huge difference in flavor profile everything. But with that being said it may not be in your wheel house

I'll pick a couple up next week to let them chill and try again. I smoked it as soon as I got home from the B&M because I was excited to give it a go.

The Big Let-Down for me was Stonehaven pipe tobacco.

It was expensive and VERY hard to find, but everyone was singing it's praises for years, so I had to try it. What a let-down. It had a distinct metallic tang to it and some strange chemical taste in the background. I'd rather smoke Prince Albert.

Flor de las Antillas. Just didn't float my boat, and I've tried two of them.

I found these underwhelming as well. I had two well rested ones. They were good, just not great to me.

That's how I feel about them too. I like them, but they just aren't anything special like they're made out to be by some. I will say that if that is as underwhelmed as I ever get by a cigar then I'll be extremely happy.
