Wow, a lot of guys aren't impressed with Padron. Maybe I like them so much because I took baby steps starting with the X000 series and already had an idea of what to expect. The Melanio is still a good stick and at the price I got the box for I couldn't even begin to complain about it. I still keep them around and smoke one occasionally but I tend to give them away more than I smoke them.

About 5 years ago I had a Cohiba Behike, Siglio IV, and a Padron 1926. (All in the same week)

My favorite of the 3... The Padron 1926.

If Bum decides to ban me for this confession, I'll completely understand.

Mr. Simpson, don't you worry. I saw an episode of Matlock in a bar last night. The sound was down, but I think I got the gist of it.

I actually liked the regular Serie V more than the Melanio.

Opus X. It was good but it wasn't $27 good. It was $10-12 good.

Haha yeah i can agree with that. I do love Opus X but locally they are crazy with their prices. I have on B&M that sells Power Rangers for $36 and another that sells D' Chateau for $57

    Here's a few things...

    1) Not everyone will like Opus X.
    2) They need significant nap time (like 3-4yrs) to get the best from them or so I've heard.
    3) I've found significant flavour differences in the RG - a Power Ranger tastes different from a Petit Lancero and the DC tastes different from either. Same thing with the Anejos.

    No offense meant here but...
    1. NO cigar will appease EVERY person on the planet
    2. If I'm paying upwards of $30 for a SINGLE cigar there is a level of expectation that comes with that. Waiting 3-4 years to smoke it is absurd.
    3. I certainly wasn't wowed enough to spend ANOTHER $25-$30 on the same line

Conversely, I've had a PAM64 that was out of sight that I smoked a couple days after getting a 5-pack. It was half the price and 10X the cigar, IMO. And that's what this is really all about: Opinions.

I must confess I think this point is eminently reasonable (as are your others).

I think I've just got used to thinking this is a norm for full-bodied cigars. Padron and LP both make sure they put out stuff ready to smoke so it can be done.

Carlito God of Fire. I'd give it 7.5/10 for a $20 cigar...
