Probably would work fine but I think you'd want only a 60% Boveda. @NeverBend posted a thread on re-hydrating a while back. Seems the key is to rehydrate slowly. However, that being said, I've re-hydrated dry tobacco in a pouch by dropping in a slice of an apple for the day. Worked just fine but then that baccy wasn't petrified, just was getting too dry and on the verge of crumbly.
