True Derelict
BryGuy reviews "Einstein 2."
Smoked right out of the bag, in a Savinelli Roma.
Mostly dark and leathery, with medium-brown strands mixed in.
Initial light brings the floral soap fragrance of The Professor, but with an earthy nuttiness riding alongside.
This "nuttiness" reminds me of pecan shells and the layer of bark that builds up at the bottom of an old wood pile. It isn't strong, but it is there.
As the smoke progresses, the floral note takes over the retrohale.
This smoke is a little more "drying" on my soft palate, as burley tends to do to me.
A slight gurgle pops up, but that is normal for me; especially since this is a half-bent pipe (sorry, Pete!)
The middle of the smoke turns mellow, and I find I'm puffing more to find the flavors. A quick ash dump, tamp, and relight liven things back up.
The floral smell in the smoke is back. I think it is a nice room note.
The nuttiness reminds me of nut shells, but not the nut meat.
The burley tingle is creeping around my mouth. I don't say this as a negative for the mixture, just how I react to burley.
But I do think I prefer The Professor over Einstein; just a little.
