Once in a while a cigar will stay good and tasty all the way down to the nub - those I'll smoke till they start burning my lips but that is rather rare. FYI, I usually smoke cigars anywhere in the $2 to $6 range, with an occasional excursion to about $8.50. Perhaps if I smoked $20 to $30 cigars the magic would hold out to the very end... either that or due to the expense, I'd THINK it did... but I'm not going to fork out the extra dough to find out.
Pretty much this.
I'd have to say a good majority just under 1/2 and I'm done. You get that rare one (both cheap side and expensive side) that's good down to almost the cap. Typically, those are the ones that surprise me the most and just because one did that doesn't mean the next, same box even, will be the similar.
